The short answer
A one-off annual service usually costs between £120 and £180. Prices vary by region, by system type and by whether the engineer is the original installer.
What's normally included
A check of the refrigerant circuit, flow and return temperatures, controls and settings, strainers and filters, electrical connections and the outdoor unit.
What's usually extra
Parts, refrigerant top-ups, and any repair work found during the visit. A callout for a breakdown is charged separately.
Service plans
Some plans bundle the annual service with breakdown repairs for a monthly fee. Compare what's covered and the per-claim limits, not just the monthly price.
