What does a heat pump warranty actually cover?

1 min read · Updated 15 October 2026

The short answer

Usually parts for a set number of years, and sometimes labour for less. Most warranties depend on an annual service and on the system being registered when it was installed.

Parts and labour

Many manufacturer warranties cover replacement parts for longer than they cover the labour to fit them. Check both periods.

Conditions

Expect a requirement for a yearly service by an approved engineer, and registration within a set time after installation. Miss either and a claim can be refused.

When it runs out

Out-of-warranty repairs are charged at full cost. A service plan with breakdown cover is one way to keep the costs predictable.
